Union Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi on Sunday made it clear that the Centre has not thought about extending any financial support to Kingfisher Airlines, which was facing serious financial crisis.
Categorically denying media reports in this regard, Mr Ravi told reporters, the government has not thought about extending financial support to the private airliner.
There is no such proposal in front of me so far.
Asked whether there was any instruction to banks in this regard, the Minister said, no such direction was given by the government.
“I don’t know whether there was any direction by the Finance Ministry in this regard. The banks had their own business and policies”, he added.
Extension of any financial assistance to such sick business/es, shall be a bad practice.
