New Delhi,May 16:The BSF will deploy about 1,000 personnel on the border to strengthen the forces with latest modern electronic gadgets like night vision devices, thermal imagers and early-warning system to thwart further infiltration bid.
At an interactive with media persons at the border outpost Kohra on the International Border, BSF Director General AK Mitra Friday admitted that about 3-4 militants managed to infiltrate this time. However, the BSF was successful in foiling further infiltration by a big group of militants, as the force had specific inputs that more infiltration bids were being made by militants from the Line of Control (LoC) on the border.
Director General Mitra visited the international border at Samba to take stock of the situation in the backdrop of infiltration attempt made by militants last week. Six civilians and three militants were killed in that incident.
