As a part of the World Literacy Day celebrations at “Pustak School Sector 25” and “Hamari Kaksha Sector 29”, Chandigarh, Youth United donated more than 200 books which include art books, novels, text books etc, which would be used to set up or extend the school library. These books have been collected by a monthlong donation drive conducted by Youth United. The response to the drive was very encouraging and hence it has now been made a continuous drive and we would be collecting books all round the year. To make kids understand the significance of Literacy Day, they were asked to draw on sheets and write their names in both english and hindi. Inspirational stories were told. Starting 8th September Youth United volunteers will also start taking weekly classes for students to inculcate creativity in them.
