The volunteers of Youth Against Corruption (YAC) and Civil Society Group “Aawaaz” have organized a Dharna today at round about 18/7 in Chandigarh demanding Indian Government to bring black money back which is stashed in the foreign banks and declare it as national assets.
The protest was participated by the students in large number from various colleges of tricity who were shouting slogans against the corrupt practices of the government. We will strengthen this issue by organizing Dharna over more than 2000 places throughout the country. AAWAAZ and YAC are organizing Dharna at all District Headquarters throughout India on demand to bring black money back,
YAC and Aawaaz have been protesting against corruption and have raised their voice on different platforms to reach to the deaf ears of the government. Jitesh Pandey, Coordinator of YAC said that the money amassed by illegal way and corruption should return to country and should be spent on the development of the country. Jai Varun Giri of Aawaaz believes that government has been cruel to people and suppressed the voice which has raised against it but now entire India is up against it, so definitely people will win over government Jitesh Pandey further adds that despite the fierce agitations and anger of the people, Government is not serious on this issue. On the contrary Government is making every effort to provide shelter to corrupt leaders, industrialists and administrative officers.
Srinivas, National Committee Member of YAC & Gaurav Goel Advocateactivist of AAWAAZ shares that consolidated steps need to be taken to bring the black money back and its utilization towards betterment of the country.. They further adds that some measures should be taken to bring the black money back like Black money should be declared as national assets by parliamentary provisions. Till date the cognizance of the name and address of the bearer, floating warrants should be issued which would help in transmission of the money to India. As far as black money in India is concerned, the currency should be demonetized. Currency notes of 1000 and 500 should be exchanged within a periods of 30 days from the banks.
