Chandigarh, March 14:- Youth Affairs and Sports Wing of Education Department will organize adventures sports programme for the students & Teachers from April onwards.
According to S.K. Setia DPI (s), there will be three different programmes which include soft adventure sports at ShivPuri Camp & JoluKyari Camp site near Sclaqui on the way from Paunta Sahib to Dehradun, One day tracking Programme from Kalka to Kasauli & Himalayan Tracking Expedition at Dalhausie.
Setia said that the Education Dept. in association with Divine Adventures Dehradun is organizing soft Adventure sports Activities for the students & eachers. The Proposed period is first week of April. He said that an amount of Rs.2500/ will be charged for a programme of 3 nights & 4 Days for attending the camp at ShivPuri Camp site JoluKyari Camp Site.
He further added that the camp will provide opportunity to participate in Rock Climbing, Paddling Practice, Australian Walk, Spider wEb, Blind Fold, Bon Fire & Antakshari. In addition to Tracking, Hiking & Cultural Activities, he said that the Physical Education Teacher, S.S.A. Teachers who are interested in attending the programme may apply upto 20th March along with 50% charges of the Camp for the Teachers working in urban Area Schools & 25% Charges for the Teachers working in Rural Area Schools to the Youth Affair & Sports Branch in the office of D.E.O. U.T. Chd. Setia said that rest of the amount shall be deposited by the concerned school from the excursion or Amalgamated Fund.
Setia said that children above 15 years & above will be taken to one day tracking programme from Kalka to Kasauli. He said that the students will travel from chd to kalka by bus & from Kalka to Kasauli by tracking. Whereas in return they will travel by bus. He further added that tracking expedition shall be under the supervision of expert Teachers. The cost of one day Programme will be Rs. 200/- per child which shall include traveling by deluxe bus & Refreshment. The interested students will pay the 50 % of the charges and the school shall pay the rest of the amount from the Excursion & Amalgamated
Fund. The Propose period for this programme is first week of April 2008.
Regarding the third programme Satia said that the Himalayan Tracking Expedition will be organized at Dalhausie –Khajjiar – Chamba. This programme will be for boys & girls from the Chd.Govt & Private Schools having the age 15 years & above. Whereas, the duration of this programme will be 3 nights & 4 Days. He said that the total expenditure will be Rs.1800/- which shall include Traveling by deluxe luxury bus, stay at hotels at sharing bases, guide charges & pure veg. meals. He said that the students will pay 50 % amount & the rest of the amount will be paid from the excursion or amalgamated fund.He further added that the edu. dept shall issue the participation certificates for the Tracking expedition.
