By Jagpreet Singh Sandhu ,Chandigarh, January20 : As part of 23rd Road Safety Week-2012 being celebrated in the city from 17th to 23rd January, 2012, the Chandigarh Traffic Police on Friday organized a Cycle Rickshaw Puller Workshop at Traffic Park, Sector 23, Chandigarh. The purpose of rally was to aware the rickshaw pullers about road rules and regulations.
About 200 cycle rickshaw pullers took part in this workshop. 100 Blankets and 200 Reflectors were distributed to them. Road safety literatures were also delivered to the rickshaw pullers. Lectures on road safety were also delivered by Sh. Vijay Kumar, DSP/Traffic. Wing Comdr. C.S. Grewal, Sh. Amar Manchanda, Sh. Gurnam Singh, Sh. Sunil Bhardwaj and Sh. Varinder Gautam Traffic Marshals were also present on this occasion.
Apart from this, the Chandigarh Traffic Police today also organized a Trauma Response Workshop for P.C.R. and Traffic Police Personnel at Auditorium of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sector 31-A, Chandigarh.
A team of GMCH Sector 32 along with Dr. Manpreet Singh Asstt. Professor, Department of Anesthesia & Intensive care, Dr. Dheeraj Kapoor Assistant Professor Department of Anesthesia, Dr. Lokesh Anand Associate Professor Department of Anesthesia & Intensive care, Dr. Rohit Jindal Assistant Professor Department of Orthopedics and Dr. Rajiv Sharma Professor Department of surgery from GMCH Sector-32 imparted practical training to the policemen. The Trauma Response Workshop of GMCH, Sector-32 is affiliated with America Heart Centre. Over 200 police officials from PCR, Police Stations and Traffic Wing attended this workshop.
