Chandigarh,25 May:A workshop on robotics was organized in CARMEL CONVENT SCHOOL, CHANDIGARH . The programme was conducted by Robosapiens-India, a society driven by the engineering students and graduates of prestigious institutions like IIT-K, IIT-R, N.S.I.T., G.B.P.U.A.T., Pantnagar and other engineering colleges.
Prior to this, ROBOSAPIENS- India has successfully conducted workshops in numerous other institutions like Sherwood College, Nainital, St. Joseph’s College, Nainital, St. Amtul’s Public School Nainital , City Montessori School, Lucknow, The Aryan’s Dehradun and so on. The response received so far has been overwhelming.
Under supervision of the faculty of Robosapiens-India, students participated in the workshop with unabated interest throughout, and were successful at calibrating robotic machines by using the tools and equipment, raw material and study material provided by the society.
ROBOSAPIENS-INDIA aims at channelising the minds of students towards the technical domain of life. The mission of the Society is to extend robotics education to school going children and to develop a scientific temper amongst them. Robotics Education helps in developing and honing basic life skills like problem solving, decision making and goal setting.
More than 130 eager school-going children, learnt the intricacies of robot design and fabrication and henceforth substantiating their knowledge base by way of study material, interactions and guidelines provided to them by the members of the Robosapiens-India. It was quite tangible that the efforts of the society supported by Sister Maria Christi, the Principal and those of Mrs. Rajni Wadehra, the science teacher, were in synchronization with the vision of the society- "LET EDUCATION EVOLVE."
The zeal and the inquisition shown by the students had far reaching undertones, as Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh has been the epitome of quality education and all round development of kids.
The programme culminated with a quiz competition for the participating students to boost their confidence and encourage them all the more. Winners were awarded prizes and merit certificates. The outstanding students will be given the opportunity to participate in technical festival of IIT-R, by way of sponsorship by ROBOSAPIENS-INDIA.
