By Jagpreet Sandhu :Chandigah, January21 : Progressing with 23rd Road Safety Week-2012, the Chandigarh Traffic Police on Saturday organized a Workshop for Bus drivers of CTU, Pepsu, Punjab & Haryana Roadways at Admn. Block at CTU Plot No. 701, Industrial Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh to aware them about road rules and regulations. About 150 bus drivers took part in this workshop. Insp. Baljit Singh, Admn. Traffic and Sh. B.S. Phogat from Society of Indian Auto Mobile Manufactures (SIAM) New Delhi delivered the lectures on Road Safety to the drivers. A team of (Dr. Davinder Pal Singh, Dr. Razi Bhatia and Dr. Savleen Kaur) from Eye Hospital, Sohana also organized a free Eye Testing Camp. After eye testing 4 drivers were found effected with cataract and 35 drivers were advised for spectacle.
Along with this, Chandigarh Traffic Police also organized a Conference on Road Safety & Management at Auditorium of Govt. College, Sector-46, Chandigarh. Approximately 200 persons form various Schools/Colleges were participated in this conference. Sh. Alok Kumar, IPS, DIG/Chandigarh, Sh. R. S. Ghumman, IPS, SP/Operation, Sh. V. K. Kapoor, IPS (Retd.), Sh. Vijay Kumar, DSP/Traffic, Principals of Schools/Colleges and other dignitaries were also present to discuss on the issues of road safety.
