CHANDIGARH-June 9, 2011: The Wi-Fi system installed in the A.C. Joshi Library, Panjab University was inaugurated by Prof. R.C. Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University here today. This wireless internet facility will enable the students, researchers and faculty to access online sources and databases available in the library on their laptops while sitting anywhere in and around the library round the clock. To avail Wi-Fi Facility, they will have to get themselves registered in the library. The Library is having access to 5000 online scholarly journals through U.G.C.’s INFLIBNET Consortium, besides subscribing to a number of online costly databases like Science Direct, Scopus, Westlaw, Pro Quest Dissertations and Theses, Sage Journals, etc. The introduction of Wi-Fi system in the library will go a long way in facilitating the researchers in having free access to these valuable sources, Dr. Raj Kumar, University Librarian informed.
