TheIndia Post, Chandigarh, 2nd October, 2008 : The final of the Inter Public School Conference (IPSC) U-19 Girls Basketball Tournament was played today at Yadavindra Public School, Mohali. Dr. HS Dhillon Principal YPS, Mohali had inaugurated the tournament, which featured 11 teams from all over the country, on 28 September 2008.
The tournament concluded today with a thrilling flood light match played between Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer and Welham Girls School, Dehradun.he Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Ajmer Singh who is an Arjuna Awardee (Sports) and holds a PhD. Degree. He has over 30 years of teachingexperience at the Postgraduate Level and is the Vice Chancellor of the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior. Prof AjmerSingh has also done the country proud by winning one gold and two silver medals at the 1966 5th Asian Games, Bangkok.
