Chandigarh March 15, 2009 : Chandigarh State Bharatiya Yuva Janata Morcha (BJYM), youth wing of BJP, today felicitated the young new voters in a function held in Sector 15 here. National Secretary of BJP Mr Shyam Jaju, who was the chief guest on the occasion called upon the youth to caste their vote to bring about change, in view of the huge challenges faced by the country. He reminded the youth that whenever the young generation became active it changed the regime.
Greeting the newly registered new generation voters from various sectors and colonies of Chandigarh, who have to vote for the first time during this election, he asked them to question the leaders about the stalled reform process and about the indignity and insecurity being faced by the man on the street. He asked the large number of young voters attending the function to take removal of the Congress lead UPA government as a challenge and motivate the voters, as only the young generation can change the destiny of the country. Flower petals were showered on freshly registered voters on this occasion by district level BJYM leaders.
BJP candidate for Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain held Congress party responsible for rise in cost of education, health services and medicine, and growing unemployment. He said before last Parliamentary elections Congress party had promised to generate 10 million news jobs but according to government figures 15 million persons have lost jobs and another 15 million jobs are at risk. He said BJP will protect the dignity of common man and will free him from the feeling of insecurity.
Mr Jain further said that on coming to power the BJP NDA lead central government will draw up an education policy, sports policy and employment policy for Chandigarh. A services selection board will be set up for Chandigarh. He put the Congress in dock for not getting an IIT and a central university for Chandigarh. Speaking about price rise he said Congress party, which asked for votes in the name of the common man, has pandered to the interests of the rich only. He said Congress party has failed on all fronts. He called upon the youth to expose the anti-people policies followed during the five-year rule of Congress party and bring out its true face for the people to see.
Chandigarh BJP President Mrs Kamala Sharma, who presided over the function, told the youth that BJP alone will give them an opportunity to prove and rise to their potential. She recalled how Mr Satya Pal Jain, who had joined the party as an ordinary member, rose to join the frontline leader in BJP. Chandigarh State BJP General Secretary Mr Sanjay Tandon, Mr Mata Ram Dhiman, BJYM National executive member Jaswant Babloo and BJYM national treasurer Aseem Goyal also addressed the function.
State BJYM President Gurpreeet Dhillon called upon the youth work hard to ensure victory of BJP candidate. M/s Satinder Singh, Davesh Moudgil, Asha Verma, Rajesh Gupta, Arun Sood, BJYM leaders including Vikram Yadav, Gurmeet Pannu, Rajesh Kalia, Mahesh inder singh, Pintu Sharma, Sukhbir Kaur Kaur Maan, Hitesh Pandit, Rajendran Chattyar, Satyawan Shera, Robin Kanwar, Arvind Rana, Jagannath Mishra, Gurpreet Laadi were among the large number of state division and district level leaders who attended the function.
