Chandigarh, August 6th , 2009: VLCC, category leader in the Wellness domain with presence in slimming, beauty & fitness businesses today announced joining hand with Kushii in their initiative called Art Express . VLCC has always be a part of all the initiative undertaken by Kushii towards mobilization of rural population, education of under privileged children and empowerment of women. The initiative was announced at an event organized at Taj Hotel, Chandigarh.

VLCC seizes every opportunity to raise awareness about the fact that obesity is a medical problem and is rapidly spreading in India. Every year VLCC observes November 26th as Anti-Obesity Day, and conducts awareness programs, training camps, and workshops in schools for both children and their parents.
As part of its CSR initiatives, VLCC provides free training to visually impaired as well as deaf and dumb and supports the under-privileged with jobs at the centers. Through various programmes, it creates income earning and income generation activities as also actively engages in organizing health check-up camps for cardiac care, gynaecology and diabetes, among others.
VLCC also gives support to NGOs and Government initiatives. Vandana is the President of the NGO, Khushii which has projects like tele-medicine centres, “Shikshaantra” – a remedial school with midday meal catering to 3000 children, “Kala” – a vocational training centre where VLCC has already trained over 200 students in beauty services. “Tamanna” founded by Dr. (Mrs.) Shyama Chona (Padamshri) with the main objective of empowering differently abled children, receives VLCC support for its fund raising events.
VLCC also sponsors children at Amarjyoti, a school for physically challenged children, trains their beauty staff and monitors the curriculum of their Beauty Training course.
VLCC has also collaborated with the Ministry of Women & Children Welfare and is undertaking vocational rehabilitation of the destitute and homeless women. VLCC also actively participates in seminars held by the Ministry on Child Obesity.
