Chandigarh, 19th June:- Chandigarh Administration is all set to organize the second edition of the International Day of Yoga at the Capitol Complex, a historic architectural marvel by Le Corbusier, amidst the beauty of nature. Chandigarh has got an overwhelming response with an outstanding number of registrations by the citizens of the tricity, who were regularly practicing yoga in the morning camps being held at the various places across the city beautiful. To make them a part of the main venue on the International Day of Yoga, Chandigarh Administration has made arrangements for all participants.
Around 100 LEDs have been displayed at various spots to relay a live telecast of the main venue: Capitol Complex. In addition to this, videography of all the venues shall be done through which, the best top three yoga performers shall be shortlisted by the committee constituted for the same. The best yoga performers shall be felicitated with prizes, rest of the best performing participants shall get certificates along with T shirts. Seeing the overwhelming response by the citizens, Chandigarh Administration has decided to organize a video contest for all yoga lovers wherein participants can capture their video while performing yoga protocol. The winners shall be felicitated with a cash prize amounting to Rs. 10,000, Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 5000 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The videos can be uploaded by 21st June upto 5 pm.
According to Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh “Thousands of people from different walks of the society , school children, college students and even senior citizens are participating in this event of yoga which reflects the enthusiasm in them to learn and perform yogas which will help them in imbibe a healthy and stress free life “. With a day left for the D day, preparations for the yoga day are in full swing and the city is fully involved in preparations and arrangements to make the venture a great success.
