CHANDIGARH, NOV 8 : A fine spell of bowling by Rajesh Vaid (4 for 16) enabled RLCR XI to defeat Pace Club-32 by four wickets in the IInd RLCR League Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Chandigarh Sports Club at Government Model Senior Secondary School ground in 32 ground here today.
Pace Club-32 won the toss and elected to field. RLCR XI scored 98 for 8 in 22 overs. Neeraj Rana played a defiant knock of 41 runs. Ajay Malik contributed 20. Rajesh Vaid was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up four important wickets including that of Neeraj, and gave away only 16 runs in the process.
In reply, RLCR XI easily achieved the target as they made 99 for 6 in 18 overs. Damandeep top- scored with 23. At one stage RLCR XI were precariously placed at 45 for 4. However Damandeep along with Ashok (19) saw their team through.
Ishan Ali and Sumit Hooda got two wickets each for 12 and 31 runs, respectively.
