Chandigarh, April 12 : A team of Education Department, Chandigarh, UT paid a visit to Kundan International School, Sector 46 here today. The team consisting of teachers and coordinators of various government schools of the city studied the facilities, infrastructure and latest educational techniques available at Kundan International School. The tour of educationists was organized after Shri Setia, DPI took initiative to appraise the public sector educationists about the latest and most updated technological and structural advancements in the modern day schooling based upon international standards as followed at Kundan International School.
The team was given a warm reception by the school staff and higher functionaries including Mrs Kavita Wadhwa, Principal and Prof K N Pathak, Ex Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh who took the visitors around the school campus. The teachers were visibly impressed by the advanced system of the schooling which follows a remarkable pattern combining the international and national curricula. Unique bee hive structure of the school impressed the visitors with its underlying message of harmony with nature. Specialized school curriculum designed to promote thinking and creativity rather than
bland learning and grading systems were explained to visiting educationists.
Child friendly and child oriented classrooms and green writing boards with infused English lines and square patterns for developing their calligraphic skills. Stage and classroom libraries in each and every class rooms right from pre nursery level to sharpen public speaking and presentation skills along with stimulating a love for reading books was an eye opener of sorts. Pigeon holes and wall to wall display boards to facilitate children and teachers to organize and showcase the pupil’s work were appreciated by visitors. Even as the structural and infrastructural facilities were deeply appreciated, the visiting delegation was impressed by the aesthetic sense and appeal of specially designed wall paintings all around the corridors and class rooms which inculcate an environment of self learning. The visiting delegation also met Mr Inderpal Singh, skating coach of the school who pioneered the skating coaching in Chandigarh way back in 1971.
Interacting on the occasion large number of teachers expressed sense of great appreciation towards modern educational techniques and ambience of Kundan International School which is greatly conducive to the overall learning and development of the students. Mrs Kavita Wadhwa welcomed delegates and expressed gladness at the concern and interest shown by the DPI (schools) and all members of delegation in the activities of Kundan International School.
Prof K N Pathak said that it was high time to adopt modern interactive and technology based techniques with scientific research in order to get the best out of efforts put in by the faculty of any institution. In order to optimize the results the advancement of curriculum and educational techniques is a must, added Prof Pathak.
