Chandigarh : Coordination committee of UT & MC employees orgnised a Dharna in support of the agitation of GMCH Nurses Welfare Association in front of GMCH 32, CHD . All the unions those are under the coordination committee participated in the Dharna.
GMCH Nurses are demanding to fill up the vacant post as the institute is facing a severe shortage of Nurses for long time raising the troubles of Nurses as well as of the patients. After calling up the strike, even though the Chandigarh administration has advertized 359 posts of Nurses the association is demanding that vacancies should be filled up as shortly as three months considering coming Monsoon season. More than fifty percent of total posts are lying vacant since last year and it is a delayed advertisement that worsened working condition for the Nurses and worsened facilities for the patients.
The second major demand is to adoption of central civil service rule and central pay scale to UT employees as it is the demand of most of employees of govt. and MC employee, UT, Chandigarh. The third major demand is to change the designation from nurses to nursing officer as is used in foreign countries and army hospital and in some Indian hospitals. This demand can be easily met, as there is no financial burden with it.
Coordination committee is supporting the agitation because all the demands are genuine and some major demands are of public interest like filling up the vacant posts. So the Media is invited to cover the Dharna at 10.00 am on 05.06.12. venue is MAIN GATE, GMCH SECTOR-32, CHANDIGARH.
