Chandigarh 11th February, The Executive Body members of PGI Employees Union today visited the Director office to present Roses and Farewell Card to Mr. S. S. Saini, Ex-PPS who has been now appointed as OSD. However, Mr. S. S. Saini, OSD proceeded on leave to avoid facing the Executive Body of Union. The Executive Body let roses and farewell card on his seat.
In the meantime, the Union Health Ministry has sought comments / explanation from PGI Administration on the representation of Union regarding the appointment of Mr. S. S. Saini as OSD. However, the PGI Administration has concealed the communication and keeping it under the carpet. It clearly shows that the PGI Administration has no plausible explanation upon the illegal and arbitrary appointment. Moreover, the Consultant appointed at Ministry of Health and F.W., New Delhi at the cost of PGI, who is more qualified and expert, has been refused the enhancement from R. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 but Mr. Saini has been appointed for Rs. 55,000 besides pension and other retirement benefits.
The Union wish to request Mr. S.S.Saini, Ex-PPS / OSD to leave the PGI peacefully so that the cordial and congenial atmosphere of PGI is not spoiled.
The notice served under Section 22 (i) (b) of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 on 6th February, 2012 will expire on 20th. The Executive Body of Union will meet after 20th to announce its programme to intensify the agitation if Mr. S. S. Saini, OSD is not removed from the office of Director, PGI, who has been anti non-faculty staff and has highly negative attitude and approach. He has been interfering in policy decisions and day to day work of employees without any responsibility and accountability.
