Chandigarh, March 12:- The Chandigarh Administration has been appreciated and commended by the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Mr. Anbumani Ramadoss for the initiatives taken by the UT Health department.
UT Home and Health Secretary, Mr. Krishna Mohan disclosed that the declaration of Chandigarh as Smoke Free city and Plastic free was highly praised during a special meeting held to review the Health Sector in respect of all Union Territories. The Health Department’s initiative of linking mandatory immunization care to school admission, Renewal/ New ration card and free delivery were also appreciated, he added.
Home Secretary also disclosed that the Health Minister asked other UTs to emulate Chandigarh. The Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme of Chandigarh Administration has been adjudged one of the best in India, he further added.
Members of Parliament, Health Secretaries and Directors of Health Services from concerned UTs also participated in the meeting.
