19 Feb : University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University organized its first alumni meet in the department for felicitating its first two batches. It is pertinent to mention that this department is just 7 year old, incepted in 2004 and already has very rich alumni. During a short span, it has emerged as one of the premier legal institutes of India with a unique combination of tradition and modernity. Its mission is to equip students with the expertise to diagnose and solve the problems through legal analysis and reasoning.
Students have already made their alma mater proud by being successful in various state judicial examinations, receiving admissions and scholarships in institutes of international repute for higher education, excelling in corporate sector, LPOs and the others categorically joining the Bar Council.
There was feeling of euphoria as students were meeting their friends and teachers after a long time. They thanked their teachers for their unflagging support and guidance which helped them through the twilight of their career. They expressed their debt of gratitude and unanimously said that they owed everything to their department. Recalling the pranks, fun, frolic, and their much favorite mass-bunks and unending sojourns at stu-C, a feeling of nostalgia made the students as well as teachers burst into peals of laughter.
Prof. R.S Grewal, Founder-Director of UILS also graced the occasion by their benign presence. They exhorted the students to continue their hard work and upkeep their value system.
The alumni also promised that they would extend all possible help to facilitate student placements, internships and guide the present students by giving them valuable tips for wining client counseling and moot court competitions.
