Chandigarh, April 26 : Several employees and kisan unions, writers associations and social organizations from Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana held a huge rally in the support of the ongoing struggle of the Tribune Employees Union here on Tuesday. They pledged that they would spearhead the agitation in each and every town of the region.
Speakers at the rally said that the Tribune management should revoke the suspension of union leaders immediately and withdraw the chargesheets otherwise situation would be worsen and the responsibility would be of the Tribune management. The employees unions decided to intensify its struggle in each and every corner of the street in the region and the kisan unions threatened that they would gherao the Tribune office headquarters if the demands of the Tribune Employees Union were not accepted. The leaders criticized the Chandigarh Administration for imposing CrPC 144 in Sector 29, Sector 31 and Industrial Area Phase 1 and Phase 2 for one day and denying the permission to hold a peaceful rally. The administration imposed CrPC 144 under the pressure of Tribune management and supported victimization policies of the Tribune management. The unions criticized the anti-democratic polices of the Chandigarh Administration and pledged that they would continue its struggle against the administration also.

Mr Balbir Singh Jandu and Mr Anil Kumar Gupta, President and General Secretary, respectively, of the Tribune Employees Union, announced the next course of action. Mr Jagtar Singh Sidhu, ex President of the Union thanked various unions for taking part in the rally. Mr Balwinder Jammu, Senior Journalist, conducted the rally.
