Chandigarh : Sanjay Pahwa: NSS Units of Government Post-Graduate College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh organized a Tree Plantation Drive in the college today. This Drive was a part of the Nationwide Plantation Drive . The aim of the Drive was to mitigate the effects of climate change. Sh. Surinder Pal, Chief Engineer, Chandigarh Administration, was the Chief-Guest on the occasion.
Chief-Guest Sh. Surinder Pal, Principal of the college Mrs. Achla Dogra, members of faculty, volunteers of NSS units and other students of the college planted more than fifty saplings of a variety of trees. Sh. Surinder Pal stressed that the Climate Change was one of the major problem of the current times. It posed the greatest challenge to Sustainable Development. He motivated the volunteers that it is only through such plantation drives that a green cover can be developed and today’s generation and coming generation can be saved.
