It is, therefore, necessary to sensitize the community on issues related to education.. Literacy is the gateway to awareness. Awareness leads to self realization, self actualization and self confidence. If one is strong enough and is backed by a body of knowledge, is respected by others also. Then our society bound to seek our opinion in decision making process. Education helps to change the mental attitude of women at large. When we call of leadership qualities and training we do not mean leadership in political context, leadership in everyday life, in day today work to be able to perform affectively and more efficiently, she added.
Dr Sumegha Sharma from Tata Institute, Bombay advised the women to be friendly with children and guide them properly about the problems faced by them. A women may be illiterate but has the ability and wisdom to run the house and to perform all the household chores, earn and work outside home also if the need arises. But when it comes to take decisions in the family it is invariably men of the household who decide the matter, whether it is investment of money , marriage of the daughter and having how many kids at home. It is sad reflection of position of women in India . The female foeticide is a menace and medical murder. It is therefore necessary to educate the women so that they could take informed decision in the family and society, she expressed.
