Chandigarh : Traffic awareness workshop was orgnised by Moti Ram Arya Senior model School Sector 27 Chandigarh at 9 am which was coordinated and conducted by Advocate Rajiv Sharma , RL Gupta, Ms Yashoda Dobal traffic marshals and Dr Preti Goel from Doordarshan in association with Chandigarh traffic police.
Jaswinder Singh Dsp Chandigarh Traffic police was the chief guest. 480 students of 9th to 11th class were attended the workshop along with 12 faculty members. Dr Seema Biji principal of the school welcome all the guests and told the students about the importance of road safety in their daily life. Advisor of the school Madam Saroj Savant stress on the road safety while using roads.
DSP R&D road and safety Jaswinder Singh delivered a lecture in which he talked about in detail with practical with students on road markings, Correct age of getting drivingt licence and driving any vehicle, consequences of driving without licence and then fine and punishment including trouble for parents importance of correct use of wearing helmets and alighting from school buss and how to cross road. Advocate Rajiv Sharma showed accidents videos clips and pointed out the error people commit on roads. Ms Yashoda Dobhal spoke on the subject of importance of learning and giving First Aid during the accidents on the roads and during the school hours.
Dr Preti Goel and Traffic Marshal RL Gupta motivated the students for not using horn during driving on roads and always use and obey the traffic signals. CTP team distributed no honking stickers and road safety material and pamphlets among the students. ASI Bhupinder Singh enthrall the student by singing a song on road safety to encourge the students to use and wear helmet.
