The Yatra was organised by civil society group “Aawaaz”, “IAC”, “Yuva Dharti”, Anti crime and anti corruption Organization and many other NGOs also became a part of it. This yatra gradually picked momentum when scores of people, those who were informed and others who were not aware about it but were present at Sector 17 plaza with their family and friends also joined the yatra. The Yatra moved with the National flag hoisted by the youth of Chandigarh and the volunteers of different organisations. Gaurav Goel, Advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court and an active member of Aawaaz says the sole purpose of the yatra is to raise awareness among general public about the importance and the need for implementation of Janlokpal. The yatra is organised to support the movement against corruption and it will reach its destiny with more and more people pouring in the movement says he. Adding to this he says, the PM should be brought under the ambit of the Janlok pal bill and there need not to be raised any question about it.
Right to Protest is the fundamental right, and today Tiranga Yatra was stoped by the police at 2 places near dividing of sector 7/8 shows that Govt. is trying to take this fundamental right said BS Makar, an advocate and a member of Aawaaz and also said the new draft of Janlok pal Bill is nothing more than a mockery played with the sentiments of people who are up in the war against corruption. The bill ought to be drafted in such a way that it favours the citizens and not the criminals. Varun Giri, another member says that it is been long that people have been befooled by government on several issues, now the time has come for the govt. to be answerable to the people who have brought the present them into power.
That Tringa Yatra was organized very peacefully and all the present person has supported the Anna hazzare movement in the one voice and taken the pledge to curb the corruption and corrupt people from the nation.
Tringa Yatra was organized sole to register the voice and concern of the general public up to the deaf ears of the government.
