The India Post. CHANDIGARH- AUGUST 27, 2008:The three weeks Summer School in Social Sciences conducted by the Academic Staff College, Panjab University came to an end today with the Valedictory function.
The programme was attended by 30 lecturers from different institutes form the region belonging to various branches of humanity. The Chief Guest, Prof. R.C. Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, P.U. while delivering the valedictory address said that in the changing time the onus of maintaining interest in the students towards the disciplines is on the teachers, for which teachers should be ever- prepared. It should be seen as a challenge. Interdisciplinary knowledge, update information and enthusiasm to kindle the spirit of the students should be the strategies of the teachers.
The Guest of Honour, Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Head, Dept. of Cardiology, P.G.I., Chandigarh distributed the certificates. Prof. S.K. Sharma, Director, Academic Staff College, P.U. highlighted the significance of the training programme.
