Chandigarh, May, 2019 : A Talk for New India in the name “Chandigarh Dialogue” was held at Hotel Shivalik Chandigarh. The theme for the dialogue was to differentiate between Education for Life and Skill Development for Employment. The daylong event Comprised of three vigorous Sessions. A total of seven eminent speakers of different expertise contributed to the Dialogue. A vibrant participation of audience comprising of distinguished guests, academicians, policy makers, professionals, young entrepreneurs and youth leaders enriched the dialogue.
In the first session, three main speakers were Dr.UnnatPandit( Head of Operations, Atal Innovation Mission, NitiAayog), Dr.AshwinJohar (Chairman, India Russia Bilateral Council, NitiAayog) and Sr.Adv.Chetan Mittal (Assistant Solicitor General of India). They collectively delvered to opine that Education is for learning to LIVE a life NOT for learning to EARN ALIVING for life. Professional qualification or Skill Development isrecognized as a source for earning a living for life.
In the second session, Sh.Shantanu Gupta ( Author& Political Analyst), Dr.GauravMaheshwari (world renowned Gastroenterologist) Ms.KomalTalwar Sharma (Founder and Director of TT Consultancy) and Mr.DeepakMukhija ( North Sales Head, DLF) remarked and highlighted the Government of India’s sincere endeavour to differentiate between Education and Skill Development by creation of a separate Ministry of Skill Development from Ministry of Human Resource Development. As a result, New avenues of employment and changing trends in private sector have evolved. Ms.KomalTalwar said that in changing trends of work culture, gender bias is also mitigating.
In the third session, Sh.VikrantKhandelwal (Noth Zone Organizing Secretary, ABVP), Sh.VinitGoenka (TV Debator and Former Task Force Menber Ministry of Road Transport) and Ms.NidhiTripathi (National Secretaty, ABVP) highlighted the role of youth in Policy formulation for New India. They elaborated the aspiration of youth which comprises 70% of India population. It was emphatically laid that the policies should be based on the realistic ground data and research for their success.
