Chandigarh 22nd September 2013: Bharatiya Janata party Chandigarh unit through its booth workers had organized a conclave which saw the participation of Mr Rajnath Singh, BJP National president in specific. He was accompanied by the BJP National organization secretary Mr Ram Lal, National general secretary Mr J.P. Nadda, and the BJP incharge for Chandigarh Ms Aarti Mehra. Mr Sanjay Tandon, BJP Chandigarh president, former MP Sh Satya Pal Jain, former minister Sh Harmohan Dhawan were also present at the event. This event was organized was Baba Shah Lubhana bhawan in Sector 30, Chandigarh.
The program began with Mr Ram Lal lighting the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by an opening speech of the BJP Chandigarh chief Mr Tandon warmly welcoming the party dignitaries to the event. He also welcomed and appreciated the presence of all the guests and workers. Mr Tandon set the agenda of this gathering by reaffirming the party ideology with the newly elected presidents of the booth committees; appraise them of their responsibilities in the forthcoming elections as also to associate more people with the party line of thought. He assured the dignitaries and the conclave that given the strong grass root level organization as is visible today, the party would not only win the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat but win it by a thumping majority. The people of Chandigarh are disenchanted by the rampant corruption of the Congress government with its fountainhead being in Chandigarh in the form of the local MP and former Railway Minister Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal. Hence, they are looking forward to the dynamic leadership of Mr Narendra Modi and the BJP to take this city and country to greater heights.
Mr Rajnath Singh said that this is his first visit after becoming the party’s national president. He was moved by the efforts of the Chandigarh unit to welcome him. He exuded complete confidence that with this kind of enthusiasm the Chandigarh Lok Sabha will certainly be won. Atal Ji and Advani Ji have offered the longest tenure of impeccable leadership. BJP, since its inception has never been vertically divided unlike the other national parties who have been divided on more than one occasion. The common man is looking forward to the rule of the BJP. They have now seen enough of the Congress misrule and want to restore their faith in the BJP again. They remember the governance of Atal Bihari Vajpayee when the world was sure that India will be one of the super powers by 2020. Only in 6 years of the BJP’s tenure, the nation witnessed exponential development. He said that during the NDA rule India was a current account surplus state which today with rampant corruption and UPA misrule have been reduced to a current account deficit country. While the Vajpayee Government created 6 crore 70 lakh jobs in 6 years the UPA has been able to create only 27 lakhs jobs. In sharp contrast to the weak need national security policies of the Congress Government Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee even in the face of threats of Internation Economic Sanctions exhorted the Indian scientists to proceed with the Nuclear test at Pokhran and instilled National pride in every Indian citizen. The economic sanctions were not allowed to have a detrimental impact on the fiscal health of the country.
He said that some people are raising a question whether BJP has a magic wand with which it will tackle all the economic problems of the Country like price rise rupee devaluation and the problems of the common man. He said that while BJP does not have a magic wand it has shown through its Chief Ministers that with good governance all problems can be tackled. Not only state like Gujrat has made rapid progress under the leadership of Sh Narendra Modi but even erstwhile BIMARU states of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh under Sh Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan and Dr Raman Singh are shining examples of development. The UPA Government is talking of the food security bill today with rice at rs 2-3 per kg while it was implemented in Chattisgarh 5 years back with rice at rs 1 per kg. BJP ruled Goa is the only state in the country where Petrol is cheaper than even diesel. He informed that when the BJP Government came to power in Madhya Pradesh there were 7 lakhs hectares of irrigated land which today stands at an astounding 22 lakh hectares. He assured that in keeping with the ethos of BJP we will only commit what we can deliver and our vision document currently under preparation will reflect that. He said there is little to distinguish between the Administrative policies of the British and the Congress with both resorting to the policy of divide and rule while the BJP is completely secular in treating all religions equally it is the Congress which is communal by creating a divide between various communities and religions.
Mr Ram Lal, National organization secretary, gave a slogan for the booth level workers,” Booth Jeeta, Chunaav Jeeta” (Booth’s victory, Poll’s Victory).
Ms Aarti Mehra motivated the workers of the party and cited the immense contribution of Sh Shayam Prasad Mukherjee and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya .
JP Nadda, BJP National general secretary appreciated the presence of the workers to listen and learn from their beloved leader of the party, Mr Rajnath Singh. He said that the Congress party is afraid of discussion; in fact it does not have the will to indulge into a healthy discussion. For example, China has entered our territory 600 times and when we wanted to have a discussion in the parliament the defence minister was never available.
