28 Nov : The ‘Tex-Style Week’ which is an annual feature of the Clothing and Textiles Department of Govt. Home Science College was conducted from 21st November to 28th November.
The main Attraction of the week was the modeling of the in-house production of the Indian Formal Wear, sponsored by Mr. Saurabh of The Institute of Diamond Trade, India. Around 50 students from the B.Sc. Fashion Designing and M.Sc. Clothing and Textile Department took part in the modeling competition. The students crafted the garments and walked on the ramp of the college auditorium themselves to display their breathtaking creations. The competition consisted of three rounds through which the best creations were shortlisted. The panel of judges were, Dr.(Mrs.) Kavita Marriya, Dr. (Mrs.) Sween, Miss Manpreet, Miss Raman and Miss Pooja.
In the modeling category the first prize was awarded to Amrit, of B.Sc. Fashion Designing,!st year ; the second prize went to Indu of M.Sc. Clothing and Textile, 3rd Semester.
The best garment was of Kanika,M.Sc. Clothing and Textile, 3rd Semester, followed by Simardeep and Anubha of M.Sc. Clothing and Textile, 1st Semester who took the second prize, while Mamta of B.Sc. Fashion Designing,1st year and Devika, M.Sc. Clothing and Textile, 3rd Semester bagged the third prize.
