This time they have come up with the concept of introducing, for the first time in Chandigarh, Japanese & Mediterranean food delicacies in their recently inaugurated “TAO” Restaurant in sector 26, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh. The simplest meaning of The Word Tao is “The Way” or can be said too as “The Law”, “The Rule” The Tao is “Something” which exists behind all of process in the universe. And that which is behind all the process of Universe is The Lord, Almighty, Saint ie TAO in Japanese.
Mr. Vishal, the Head Chef and Mr LeNom, the Corporate Chef leads the team of highly qualified and experienced cooks, proudly explains about the Japanese & Mediterranean food being served by the “TAO” Restaurant. In the Japanese delicacies they are serving mouthwatering Suchi’s e.g. Hosomaki Sushi, which includes Cucumber/Carrots/Bell Peppers/Avocado/Black Mushroom/ Asparagus Salmon /Tuna/ Prawns whereas Ura Marki Sushi prepared as Californian Rolls/Dragon Sushi and Nigiri Sushi prepared with Salmon/ Prawns. Whereas in Mediterranean cuisine TAO is serving wide varity of food such as Arabic mix Platter, Dubai Chicken, Moroccan Chicken Skewers, Gulf Prawns, kabab-e-Joojah and Chicken Shawarma. The chef further explains that it is an authentic typical food which will mesmerise the taste buds of the Punjabi’s though they can serve it with Indian Punjabi touch just to customize it. TAO also serves Thai, Chinese, Malaysian and of coarse Indian – Punjabi cuisine.
The interior of this restaurant has been very tastefully designed by one of the owners of the chain, Mr. Kuldeep Gupta, who himself is a qualified Civil Engineer and that also from PEC Chandigarh. “All together a new concept and creation of interior has been put forward with a theme as blend of Chinese, Korean & Japanese look” said Mr. Kuldeep. He also said that he is a great believer of God, that’s why he kept this name as “TAO” – which means Saint in Japanese & Korean language. The restaurant extends from ground floor to basement having seating arrangement for almost 150 – 200 people which shows that the arrangement is quite spacious.
In all in all, it is worth visiting “TAO” which will give a true value for the food of its kind. Night Club by the name of TAO BAR & LOUNGE, which can house upto 500 odd people will be dedicated to the public by the end of this year ie 31st December as New Year Gift to the City’ites.
