Chandigarh, June 20:Wakeboard & Water Skiing Federation of India (WWSFI) would hold water Ski World Cup stop in collaboration with International Water Ski Federation (IWSF) in September 2008 in which as many as 70 countries would participate. President of IWSF, Mr. Kuno Ritschard today called upon former Sports & Tourism Minister & President of WWSFI, Mr. Jagmohan Singh Kang to discuss and chalk out the nitty gritty of this international event which is likely to be held at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh.
The delegation included Mr. Raj Pal Singh Secretary General of Indian World Ski Federation. Mr. Ritschard said that IWSF is the world governing body for all towed water sports and is responsible for the international promotion and development of Water Ski and Wakeboard and its objective is to support & promote cities, regions and sponsors to demand greater recognition for their sporting and tourist facility, products and services. He added that more such tournaments are being held this year at Tuna (Russia) in July, Alexandria (Egypt) in August, Singapore in October, Malaysia & Doha Qatar in November and Dubai in December. Dwelling on the subject, Mr. Kang averred that with teams from host of countries participating and lot of visitors to witness this world class even, tourism in this region would also get a fillip.
