Chandigarh, September 26 : To attract the visitors and evening outgoers from the city, UT tourism department organised three street plays at the different tourist spots on Monday. These plays—Chakraview , directed by Mukesh Sharma (Samvaad theatre group); Aakhir Kyon, directed by Sangeeta Gupta ( Roopak Kala and Welfare Society ) and Dulha Bikta Hai, directed by Asha Sukhlani (Welcome theatre group)—-began simultaneously at 6 pm at Sukhna Lake, Sector–17 plazza and Sector–42 lake respectively. The evening walkers at Sukhna and Sector–42 lake had a pleasant surprise in the form of two smart street plays which unfolded before them and entertained them immensely. On the other side, many shoppers at the main commercial hub of the city–Sector–17—were treated to a socially-relevant street play which not only entertained them but made them think about this social evil.At all the three different tourist spots, the spirit of the tourism week was strongly felt. A number of colourful and entertaining events are lined up in the next days of the tourism week to lure the audience.Tomorrow, Morning raga will be held at Regulatory End at 6 am followed by Tourism Walk at 7 am from Open Hand Monument to Govt.Museum and Art Gallery.
