CHANDIGARH, DEC 10 : St Xavier’s School-44, St Kabir School-26, St John’s School-26 and Ryan International-49 recorded their opening round victories with an identical 4-0 margin on the opening day of the Chandigarh State Under-10 Football Championship for St Kabir Trophy being organised by St Kabir School in Sector 26 here on Wedneday.
Ryan International routed St Xavier’s School of Mohali; St John’s School mauled Little Flower Convent School of Panchkula; St Kabir School trounced New Public School, Sector 18 and St Xavier’s School-44 outclassed Vivek High School, Sector 38.
Paramvir held the spotlight on the inaugural day as he performed a three-in-a-row feat which paved the way for St Xavier’s School, Sector 44 to outclass Vivek High School.
Paramvir started chasing his hat-trick in the 15th minute. He netted two more goals in quick succession — in 27th and 29th minutes to complete his unique feat. Earlier, St Xavier’s were given lead Saini who opened the account in the 5th minute after getting a minus pass from the right flank.
In second match of the day, hosts St Kabir School also registered a comfortable 4-0 triumph over New Public School, Sector 18. The hosts meant business from the word ‘go’. They scored their four goals in a span of 12 minutes. Sanchit Budhiraja accounted for the first two goals. Dribbling his way into the box virtually unchallenged, Sanchit caught the NPS defence napping in the 4th minute. Three minutes later, Sanchit completed his brace.
Later Arjit Shukla (10th) and Shivam Kanwar (12th) added one goal each to swell the winners’ kitty.
Ryan Interntional School, Sector 49 and St John’s School, Sector 26, also won by an identical score of 4-0 over their respective rivals. Ryan International outplayed St Xavier’s of Mohali and St John’s proved too good for Little Flower Convent School of Panchkula.
Arshjot and Prabudh starred in Ryan International’s victory as they contributed two goals each. Arshjot struck in the 3rd and 30th minutes while Prabudh found the target in the 14th and 19th minutes.
St John’s started their campaign in a whirlwind fashion as Pranav Sood put them ahead in the fourth minute. He himself doubled the margin with a goal in the 13th minute. Krishna and Parseech netted in the 11th and 20th minutes to complete St John’s victory against Little Flower.
In fifth match of the day, Mount Carmel of Sector 47 and St Xavier’s of Panchkula split points as they played a goalless draw.
