CHANDIGARH, DEC 10 :St Kabir School, Sector 26 scored two victories in contrasting style on the opening day of the ICSE Basketball Tournament today. In the opening match of the tournament being hosted by St Kabir School at its premises here, St Kabir just managed to prevail over stubborn Little Flower Convent School of Panchkula by 23-20. Pavani Sethi (7), Rupandeep Kaur (5) and Prakriti Malhotra (5) were the main scorers for the winners.
For Little Flower, Isha Sharma top scored with 10 and Meenu Thakur contributred 10 points.
Later, St Kabir defeated St Xavier’s School of Panchkula by 28-16. Naina Nijjar gave fine performance as she scored 10 points. Roopan and Tanvi Sabarhwal contributed six points apiece.
Ravneet (8) and Payal (4) reduced the margin for St Xavier’s of Panchkula.
St Xavier’s had a mixed luck today. After outscoring against St Xavier’s of Panchkukla by 24-6, Little Flower’s got the better of St Xavier’s of Chandigarh by 33-26. Meenu Thakur and Isha Sharma contributed 16 and 10 points, respectively for the winners. Sukhman (13) and Iezoma (6) served Xavier’s well but their efforts went in vain.
