By:Kishore Kumar ”vidhrohi’,Chandigarh 1st November, 2008 :It is really a matter of great joy and celebrations for all of us that we very recently celebrated 60 years of hard earned INDEPENDENCE throughout the country. There is no doubt that we have made remarkable progress in many national and international fields of repute. But at the same time it is a matter of great shame and debate that we are fast loosing our National Character day by day which was very strong during and after freedom struggle. It was hoped that with the passage of time we in free India will become mentally and morally stronger and attain new heights but it the opposite, recent incidents and happenings are testimony to it. We still believe in casteism, regionalism and talk in terms of Maharastrians and Biharis,Hindus or Muslims or Sikhs or Christians etc but not in terms of Indian or humane, which is the sole extract of all the religions. We always pretend and say that we are the creations of one God, but on the contrary we kill each other in the name of the God, regionalism and language. We seldom think of our nation first or as an Indian, for us state; regional language caste and religion are on the top of the list.
There is more anarchy in our society then it was 60 years ago. We are not bothered about our forests, rivers and agriculture land which is more important for survival on this earth, why this is so? Do we miss something in our present education system? Perhaps our education system is not designed in such a way so that it may have some extra time and books for teaching morality, which may help in building national character. The work of building National Character is to start from school level as it is wisely said, "Catch them Young ". We all should be made to understand that if the Nation remains then only different sects can survive, otherwise our enemies at international level will ruin us and there is every possibility that they may try to annex India, not physically but by creating wedges both religiously and linguistically.
We must not fall prey to this nefarious designs of our enemies otherwise we will be fighting a civil war and in those conditions our Nation is sure to asunder into pieces. The likes of Raj Thackrey should be dealt with iron hand and should be debarred from taking part in any type of elections leading to power. So let us rise to the occasion by uniting as true Indians and prove to the world that we are Indians first, Indians second, Indians third , Indians last and nothing else. JAIHIND.
