CHANDIGARH, OCT 12 : Impressive bowling by Parminder (4 for 16) enabled Sigma XI defeat Airtel XI by 36 runs in the IInd MG Cup League Cricket Tournament, being organised by Chandigarh Sports Club here at DAV Senior Secondary School in Sector 8 here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Sigma XI had a disappointing start as their openers were back in the pavillion after two overs and scoreboard reading 10 runs. Therafter Snadeep Mehta scored 32 valuable runs to help his team score 139 for 8 in 25 overs. Manpreet and Rajesh shared six wickets between and gave away just 40 runs.
In reply, Airtel XI batsmen were not comfortable while facing Parminder who was most economical bowler for Sigma XI. Manpreet played a defiant knock of 37 runs. Airtel XI were all out for 103 in 19.4 overs.

In the second match INSCOL XI bowlers ripped through the bating line up of Citi Financial to hand their team a 39-run win.
Batting first INSCOL could managed only 112 for 8 wickets in 25 overs. Mithun showed some finesse and chipped in with 40 runs for his team. Ashok Kumar was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 2 for 13.
In reply, Citi Financial threw away their wickets. Only Amit Sharma crossed 20 runs mark and Deepak and Loksh were the other two batsmen who got to double figures. Ramesh was the wrecker -in -chief as he picked up four wickets for 17 runs.
