CHANDIGARH, NOV 27 : An 11th class student of DAV Model School, Sector 15, Shivali Aggarwal, with a handicap of 17, emerged winner in the ladies section with 39 points in the first one-day Col BS Kahlon Memorial Golf Championship played at the Panchkula Golf Course today.
Grand daughter of cricket Dronacharya Desh Prem Azad, Shivali was happy with her performance as she played three under-par 14 with a handicap of 17. The course played ‘much better’ this time than she had played on this course two years back. "The course has improved tremendously," Shivali said after the championship.
Mrs. Paulin JM Singh was runner-up two strokes behind Shivali with 37 points.
In the handicap 13 to 18 category, Dr Gopal Munjal won the title with 42 points. Col Hanjra was first runner-up with 41 points and one stroke behind him was Brig Sukhdev Singh, who won the second runner-up prize.
Lt. Col RS Grewal secured 41 (22) points to emerge winner in the handicap 12 and below. Jayant Pathak 41 (20) was first runner-up and H S Khara 40 finished second runner-up.
SS Khara got the prize for the longest drive for men (317 yards and 06 inches) on hole 8 and Salam Siddique of Pakistan won the nearest to the pin (8 feet, 03 inches).

Meanwhile, the third India-Pakistan Inter-Punjab Golf Championship for the Punjab-Aab Cup will be teed off tomorrow at the Chandigarh Golf Course here Competitions will be held in three age categories: Up to 40 yrs, 40-50 yrs and above 50.
A 38-member Pakistan team arrived here via Wagha Border to take part in the Punj-Aab Cup. Besides the players, the delegate comprises experts in golf course management, turf management, tournament organizers, golf coaches and administrators.
