The India Post, Chnadigarh 4th Octuber, 2008 :NSS volunteers of GOVT.COLLEGE FOR GIRLS, SECTOR-42, CHANDIGARH organized massive rally at adopted village Kajehri. As many as 150 NSS volunteers participated in the rally as part of the ongoing Ten Day NSS camp.
The main objective of the rally was to create awareness of the social issue like health, education, environment, and other related issues among the villagers . The members of the local body also accompanied the rally along with large number of villagers. NSS volunteers also interacted with set up of Anganwari and Selai centre at village Kajehri .Dr. Uma Vasudev from the Govt. Multispecility Hospital , Sectoe-16 addressed the Volunteers and elaborated about the various aspects of the Leprosy and highlighted about the health problems of the villagers. Dr. Vishnu Pandey emphasized the role of moral values in the life of the individual Principal Mrs. Shashi Malik complimented the NSS Volunteers.
Earlier, NSS wing of the college also organized Poster and Slogan writing competitions on various social and environmental issues .Prof. S. P. Sukeja delivered extension lecturer on Personality Development and importance of camps at the national and international level to NSS Volunteers. NSS Programme officers of the college Mr. Nariender Anchal, Mr. Rajwant and Dr. Charanjeet are coordinating the activities of the NSS camp.
