The India Post, Chandigarh, 3rd Octuber, 2008 ; The NSS camp at MCM DAV College, Chandigarh witnessed a lecture on “Importance of a Balanced Diet and Nutritional Diet” by Dr. Sapna Nanda, Lecturer of Home Science , Sector-20, Chandigarh and a lecture on “Demedicalization of Women” by Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Professor of Community Medicine at the school of Public Health, PGI, Chandigarh. Later Ms. Sakshi of the Psychology Deptt in the college conducted a workshop on self-awareness which the students enjoyed very much. In the afternoon they visited the Badheri village and distributed gifts to the children’s of the village.
The Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Puneet Bedi said that the workshop was intended to instil a positive and more affirming outlook in the students. Dr. Bedi also added that it should be a constant endeavour of an institution to develop well rounded personalities and such workshops go a long way in developing the intellectual capabilities of the students.
