Chandigarh, 31 October :Chandigarh Journalists Association affiliated to National Union Of Journalists is organizing 2nd women journalists conference on November 2, 2009 in Chandigarh Press Club to discuss the issues relating to challenges facing women journalists in professional and personal life. Ms. Selja Kumari, union Minister, Urban Poverty Alleviation and Tourism will inaugurate the conference at 10.30 am. Mr. PK Roy, President, National Union of Journalists [India] will preside over the conference. Ms. Viplove Thakur member Rajya Sabha will be the guest of honour.
In the second session Ms. Shruti Chaudhary, MP from Bhiwani will be the Guest of Honour. Mr. Haresh Vashishth, President, Chandigarh Journalist Association, said that more than 100 women journalists and columnists across the country will participate in the conference and professional and gender related issues concerning women journalists of India will be discussed and the association will try to put a pressure on the centre government to look forward into the matter and take some action.
