CHANDIGARH, APRIL 4:Sector 16 Cricket Stadium Academy stormed into the final by handing out a five-wicket drubbing to CCA-Guru Nanak Public School Academy, Sector 36, in the semi-final match of the Chandigarh Under-13 Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament being organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy at the St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here today.
Chandigarh Cricket Association-GNPS Academy won the toss and elected to bat. Openers Arjit Singh (34, 4x4s) abd Shivam Bhambri (30, 3x4s) put on 55 runs for the opening wicket stand. Arpit contributed 14. Yash Kapil (4 for 20) restricted GNPS Academy total to 124 for 7 in allotted 30 overs. Chetan bagged two for 33.
In reply, Sector 16 Cricket Stadium Academy achieved their target by scoring 125 for the loss of five wickets with two overs to spare. Kuljinder (41, 6x4s) and Parnav (13 not out) realised 46 valuable runs for the sixth wicket stand. Saurabh remained not out on 21. Arpit was the most successful bowler oas he claimed 2ofr 21).
