Chandigarh, August 16:- Keeping in view that a large number of candidates along with wards are expected to be present in and around the examination centres on account of written examination for the posts of SSA teachers and resort to other agitational methods, Chandigarh Administration has prohibited the public from forming an assembly of five or more persons, taking out processions, making speeches, raising slogans, carrying of Lathis within the radius of 100 meters of the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector- 33, Sector- 20-D, Sector-23-D, Sector- 19 and Sector 16, Chandigarh for a period of 9 days.
District Magistrate Mr. Brijendra Singh issued the prohibition orders as there are apprehensions that such groups and organizations may cause obstruction, annoyance, or injury, to the persons lawfully employed and endanger human life and property, disturb public peace and tranquility and cause riots and affrays.
The above orders would not apply to the police or paramilitary or military persons or any other Government servant on official duties, the processions or meetings for which prior permission in writing of the District Magistrate/ Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chandigarh, is obtained and the customary and ritualistic procession in connection with weddings and funerals.
The order would come into force with effect from the zero hour on August 17, 2010 and would be effective up to August 25, 2010.
