CHANDIGARH, MAY 17: The afternoon shift children of Saupin’s School , Sector-32A have a reason to smile each day as coming to school has brought sunshine to their lives. These underprivileged children belonging to the age group of 3 to 6 years, come from Colony No. 5 . Mrs. Santa Saha and Mrs. Jatinder K. Bedi (Honey Singh) who are a part of the regular teaching staff, along with Mr. Vincent are putting in tireless efforts and implementing not only the pre-primary level programme but are also educating them on personal hygiene and cleanliness .
The kids seem to love the regular baths which they take in the school and also relish the mid day snack sponsored by the Saupin’s Community Service Organisation and other teachers.
The education provided by Saupin’s School is not limited only to these children , but extends to their families as well. Today, these families along with their children attended a special seminar on personal hygiene and cleanliness, organized by SCSO . Dr. Raman Raheja and Dr. Ramita Raheja gave a talk using slide show and charts on the dangers of poor hygiene and sanitation .
They spoke at length about diseases like cholera , dysentery etc. and also touched upon methods of family planning.
Lunch sponsored by SCSO was provided to them along with "hygiene kits" consisting of soap , toothpaste and oil which were donated by the students of class IX and X .
