Chandigarh May 2, 2012. Mr. Satya Pal Jain, Ex-City MP and National Incharge of the Legal & Legislative Cell of the BJP has urged the Administrator of Chandigarh to call the representatives of the Safai Karamcharis of Chandigarh, who are sitting in Dharna outside Municipal Corporation Office, hold talks with them and sort out the matter amicably by accepting their genuine demands.
Mr. Jain was addressing a rally of the Safai Karamchari Union in Sector 17 today. He also sat in Dharna for about one hour to show his solidarity with the agitating Safai Karamcharis.
Mr. Jain said that unfortunately the rulers of India today i.e. the Central Ministers have become highly arrogant because of power, money and property that they have acquired during the last 7-8 years. He said that the Congress(I) party came to power in the name of ‘Aam Admi’ and today the ‘Aam Admi’ is the worst victim of its 7-8 years rule. He said that Safai Karamchari’s are earning their livelihood by collecting garbage from each house and the present government instead of providing more facilities to them is taking away even their livelihood.
Mr. Davesh Moudgil, the BJP Councillor said that although 5 Central Ministers including the Prime Minister are connected with Chandigarh, yet today no body listens to the problems of “Chandigarhians”. He said that the Central Minister who is Local MP has no time to look into the problems of anybody else except his own his family and his relatives, because of which a large section of the city is up has been forced to resort to agitation.
In addition to Mr. Jain and Mr. Moudgil, Sh. Arun Sood, MC, Sh. Rajesh Kalia, Sh. Ramesh Dulla, Sh. Kishan Singh Puhar, Sh. Krishan Chadda and Smt. Renu Bala also addressed the rally.
