Sh. Sanjay Tandon, President Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh strongly condemned steep hike of 50% in the electricity tariff by Chandigarh Administration and termed it as a sever blow on the common man, traders, shopkeepers, serving class as well industrialists who are already reeling under the sky-rocketing prices under the Congress regime. He said that the proposed hike is unprecedented and uncalled for and demanded immediate withdrawal of the proposal in the interest of city residents.
Sh. Tandon said that most of the residents of city belongs to medium class and this section of society is already much fed with the price rise, maladministration and corruption of Congress Government. The prices of Petrol, Diesel, LPG and other kitchen items including wheat, vegetables etc. are already out of reach of common man. The people are facing lot of difficulty to feed their family and this unprecedented hike in power tariff will disturb the budget of medium class.
Sh. Tandon further said that the traders and industrialists of city are already suffering due to poor policies of Congress. Most of the industries of city have already locked out their units. The price inflation is increasing whereas the interest on deposits is decreasing day by day. The industrialists are facing problems to run their units. This unnecessary burden of increased power tariff will force them to suffer more losses. The traders are finding it difficult to maintain their trade due to high-competition in the markets.
