Chandigarh, March 7:-The Chandigarh Administration has invited recommendations for “Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award”.
UT Home and Social Welfare Secretary Mr. Krishna Mohan disclosed that the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award will be given to the will be given to individuals for their services to children in the field of Child Development, Child Protection and Child Welfare. He said that three individuals will be awarded at the national level. Home Secretary said that the Indian Council for child Welfare and other organisations working for the children welfare has been asked to recommend the nominations to the Director Social Welfare before June 31.
Mr. Mohan revealed that the award will carry Rs. 1 lakh and a citation for each individual awardees. The selection of the awardees will be done by selection committee headed by Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Government of India. The individuals to be selected for the award should have
worked for the cause of children for over 10 years. Paid officers of the institutions will not be eligible for the selection. He revealed that the sole basis of selection will be the quality of work performed by the individuals for the cause of children and the significance of the cause.
