Chandigarh, February 14- A large number of residents of Chandigarh, “the City Beautiful” have expressed their feelings to God by putting these in words in a more than 550 feet long letter.
The 3-day event of writing a 250 feet long letter to God was organized by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vidyalaya. It was due to the tremendous response from the people, especially the visitors to the Sukhna Lake that this letter crossed 550 feet late last evening.
The writing of letter to God was inaugurated by Ishwar Singh, Conservator Forest, Government of India, Mr Saurabh Joshi, M C counselor; Anu Chatrath, Ex-mayor on February 10.It was organized by Global Peace House, Sector 15-A,Chandigarh, a local branch of Brahma Kumaris . It was organized under the theme “Exploring God’s Love” to mark the celebration of Shivratri, the birthday of Lord Shiva.A large number of students of various schools, colleges and other institutions participated and expressed their views to God.
Talking about Shivratri celebrations, Brahma Kumari Sister Anita, Centre In-charge of Global Peace House said,” Brahma Kumaris celebrate Shivratri for about 15 days to mark the occasion of Shivratri. This festival symbolizes descend of God. The purpose of God’s descend is to relieve each yearning being from its sufferings and pains. This task is taking place practically during this period. Therefore, it is time to re-connect to Him and inherit our true assets of peace, happiness and bliss which cannot be found elsewhere. It is with this aim of spreading God’s message that Brahma Kumaris celebrate Shivratri in a big way each year.”
