CHANDIGARH, SEPT 13 : More than 200 principals, DPIs amd PTIs from different government schools of Chandigarh participated in the table soccer refresher course at the Governement Model Senior Secondary School in Sector 23 here today. The refresher course was conducted by the Table Soccer Federation of India and UT School Education Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Public Instructions (Schools) SK Setia suggested that more such refresher courses should be coducted to make table soccer more popular at the grass root level. More coaching centres should also be opened in schools to provide training to the interested players and Chandigarh has lot of talent.
He was happy that Chandigarh was doing good and the players are bringing laurels to the City by winning medals in the national and international competitionsl.
Table Soccer Federation of India president Balwinder Singh Johal said that two coaching centres, including one in the GMSSS in Sector 23, would be opened and the federation would depute its coaches to train the players.
Meanwhile, sqay (sports Martial Art) refreseher course was also conducted today,.
