Chandigarh, 8 August – A large number of the members of the Ramgarhia- Vishvakarma samaj, including some prominent leaders of the community met at Hotel Orange in Sector – 34, here today.
The difficulties being faced by the Ramgarhia –Vishvakarma community were discussed in detail during the meeting, and it was felt that all the Governments, whether they were led by the congress or the Shiromani Akalidal did not pay any attention to the problems of the community.
An organisation, named Ramgarhia Vishvakarma Front was formed in this meeting and its executive committee members were elected unanimously. Sh. Mata Ram Dhiman was elected as President, MP Singh Guraya as Senior Vice President, Kuldeep Singh Green and Nirmal Singh Reehal as Vice-Pesidents. Inderjit Kaur Ubhi was elected as General Secretary while Tejinder Singh as Secretary, Bhupinder Singh Ubhi as Press Secretary and Bala Singh as Finance Secretary.
While addressing the meetiong an important Front activist Mr. Parkash Singh Matharoo laid stress on the point that the governments were not giving the required subsidies for the development of industry. He added that the front will work in a multiple manner so that such subsidies reach the proper hands wherby way will be paved for the development of the members of the Ramgarhia Vishvakarma community associated with industry.
Another important activist of the front Mr. Amarjit Singh Khurl, suggested that in order to lay bare the problens of the Ramgarhia Vishvakarma community before the various Governments there was the need of forming such a pressure group which could put pressure on various political parties regarding demands and requirements of the community from time to time.
