CHANDIGARH, FEB 28 : Punjabi University of Patiala dominated the Road Races by winning both finals billed for the day in the in the All- India Inter-University Cycling Championships being organised by Panjab University, Chnadigarh at Ludhiana-Nillo Link Road, on Saturday.
Gurpreet Kaur of Punjabi University effortlessly won the 30 km Road Mass Start Race for women by clocking1:: 01: 03.622. Priyanka Desai of Pune University and Parvathy VS of Kerala University finished second and third places, respectively.
The Punjabi University cyclists also won the 50 Km Road Team Trial Race. Their squad comprising Sarpreet Singh, Gursharandeep, Jasvir Singh Sarao and Satwant Singh were timed 1:: 06:55.470. The silver medal was claimed by MGS University of Bikaner (Omprakash Jat, Ramswaroop Jhakar, Kapil Dev Bisnoi, Jetha Ram). As many as 10 universities took part in the road race.
