Madhup Yadav,Chandigarh. 30th January : Like every year, this year also Inter-University Youth Festival was recently held in West Bengal at Vidya Sagar University Midnapur. Around 3,000 students from 60 different universities of India participated in this Inter-University youth festival.
This youth festival is organized in association of with Indian universities and several colleges affiliated to the university had fetched a large number of individual prizes and championship trophies in this youth festival. In this festival, several team performers of P.U have bagged five prizes in fine arts, four in music, two in theatre and two prizes in literature.
Director of Youth Welfare Department P.U, Dr SM Kant said, "This is for the first time in the history of Panjab University that our performers have won this national level champions trophy as 1st runner up.
He also appreciated the several authorities of university and different colleges that help them in promoting the arts and preserving the cultural heritage and achieving the top position in the field of art and culture as well.
Bombay University has bagged the 1st position and won this national level champions trophy in all over the India, whereas Panjab University position was declared overall runners up in fine arts and theatre with 2nd position.
